Sunday 7 - Issue #21 | eOpinion

Welcome to issue #21 of the eOpinion Sunday 7!

As always, firstly some housekeeping – here is Friday’s Daily eOpinion if you didn’t get round to it yet.

Now let’s crack on with the Sunday 7 round-up from this week, enjoy!

Sunday 7 - Issue #21 | eOpinion

1. The search for UK’s favourite dog breed is on!

Are you a dog lover?

Do you have a view on which you think is the best breed?

As it stands, staffies are fighting it out for top spot with black labs.

If so, head on over to teamdogs.co.uk who in conjunction with Pooch & Mutt are doing a huge survey to find out the nation’s favourite.

2. Apple staff are not happy campers! 🍎

Bit of a twist on our usual survey related story with this one.

It would appear there is a bit of a standoff between the company and the staff when it comes to pay.

The staff have three times tried to put out a survey looking into compensation and each time the company has shut it down.

It’s quite a complex story but an interesting one, and you can find out more about it by clicking here.

3. It’s exam results season! 📚

And with that season comes a lot of press and the annual tweet from Jeremy Clarkson.

We wanted to find out how well the eOpinion tribe had done in their respective exams.

It would appear on the whole you are an educated bunch. Something I never doubted!

That being said, we also wanted to know how much stock you put into exam results.

Are they the be all and end all? It would appear not with just over half thinking they are important. A third don’t and 13% are not convinced either way.

4. Money and mental health! 💷

Nationwide building society has conducted some research asking students about their thoughts on the topic of money.

They found that 61% feel money worries are impacting their mental health.

Just over a third will be looking for part-time work to help[ pay for their education. Less than I thought it would be if honest.

But 84% are worried about actually finding work.

5. Maybe the high street isn’t doomed! 🛍

eCommerce agency supercharged released some research that may provide some hope to high street retailers.

62% of us believe that is important for a brand to have both an online and a physical presence.

This goes up to 75% for Gen Z and 70% for Millenials.

Surprising stats possibly but everyone likes a mooch every now and again!

More details can be found here.

Do you have a preference?

6. Are you on top of your MOT? 🚙

A survey and a public service announcement?!? I’m spoiling you with this one.

When lockdown hit last year and everything closed, garages were included. This meant MOT’s couldn’t be done.

A six-month extension was put in place and an AA survey found 20% of drivers took advantage of it.

Great initiative for sure but it also comes in line with year-old September cars needing their first MOT.

Ultimately in the next couple of months, there are going to be a huge amount of people looking for MOT’s in September. And I won’t even mention the ping risk.

Book early to avoid being late and the possibility of getting fined!

Are you affected by this? Let me know if I have saved you £1000!

7. Travelling is very complicated these days. ✈️

As someone who has a break coming up soon, this particular survey is one I completely understand.

A report from the ONS has revealed most UK holidaymakers are not finding it that easy to keep up with and understand travel rules. (CH – Yep, agreed)

And with rules and restrictions changing every few weeks, confusion I expect will only increase.

If you are heading away and want to read more about this, click here.

Thank you for having a read of our Sunday 7. I hope you found it a little bit interesting and entertaining.

If there is someone you know that you think would like it, I’d be more than happy for you to share it with them.
