1. People really love their pets! 🐶 🐱

A survey from US pet brand Honest Paws has found that 67% would give up the internet for a year and 70% would get rid of their smartphone for their pet.

2. Netflix and Prime go even more mainstream. 📺

Data released by Deloitte this week has shown 57% of Brits aged 65-75 now have a login to a streaming service. In isolation, not a big number but in 2020 it was 36%!

3. Phones and kids. 📱

A survey by Tesco Mobile this week has revealed 54% of parents have bought their kid a phone before the age of 11.

4. Pandemic led innovation! 📊

Data has been released this week from Lloyds bank who spoke to business owners about the impact of COVID.

A positive outcome found that nearly half had become more creative and innovative in an attempt to find growth. A quarter revealed that it had indeed increased revenues and profits.

5. This is a shocking stat. 🤯

An unbelievable poll from the Friends of the Lake District this week reported that one in four visitors to the area had admitted to dropping litter there. ONE IN FOUR!

6. Driving when young is crazy expensive. 💷

I heard a story this week of a 17 year old paying over £3k on his car insurance, on a pretty bog standard car.

As a result, this story didn’t really surprise me.

Nearly a quarter of parents have admitted to claiming to be the main driver on their kid’s cars in an attempt to get premiums down. This is also known as insurance fraud and could result in a criminal record.

7. How much time do you spend looking at a screen? 💻

A report by SecondSale this week showed on average people spend 5.5 hours a day looking at a screen.

The report continues to look at other trends and stats on the subject including the positive impact of reducing screen time.
