Happy Sunday! Hope everyones 2022 has been great so far.
Welcome to issue #39 of the eOpinion Sunday 7.
As always, firstly some housekeeping – here is Friday’s Daily eOpinion if you didn’t get round to it yet.
Now time for the Sunday 7 round-up from this week, enjoy!
1. Not so Dry January 🍷
Over half of Brits are likely to give up on Dry January by the second week reveals a OnePoll study commissioned by Volvic Touch of Fruit.
A third of those doing Dry January reported that the biggest hurdle they must face is turning to something other than alcohol after a ‘bad day’, and 1 in 5 cannot bear the thought of not drinking at a social event.
Manifesting a January full of good days and coffee shop catch ups for everyone ditching the drink!
2. Trading years for the ideal body
A recent survey by Good Housekeeping has uncovered that 17% of people would have a year or more off their lives in exchange for their ideal body and 3% would trade more than 5 years!
However the survey also concluded that a third of people think ****our society is generally becoming more body positive and size-inclusive.
Nonetheless, the study shows the impact of diet culture on our body image.
3. Aspiring Entrepreneurs
A new survey conducted by Perrys Chartered Accountants has revealed that 40% of people have considered starting a business in the last 6 months, however, over a third would be put off due to having limited knowledge of how a business is run.
The report showed that Londoners are most likely to venture into a new business while those in the North East and Yorkshire were less inclined to invest in a start-up.

4. Retired by 60 🤞
Most people would like to retire by the age of 60, six years earlier than the current state pension age, an Aviva survey has found.
The reasons for ‘early retirement’ range from enjoying freedom whilst still being healthy and fit to spending time with loved ones, with the pandemic being a driving factor in people reevaluating their priorities.
I, myself, am hoping to retire at 30… we can all dream.
5. Steer Clear of Aylesbury?
England’s worst places to live have been ranked, and it isn’t good news for Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.
However the 3-year reigning champs Peterborough has finally been knocked off their top spot all the way to 5th place.
One Aylesbury local offered advice to anyone visiting; “you will find yourself in a traffic jam. Don’t worry, it’s all part of the tour. Being stuck in the traffic allows you to observe the magnificent beauty of all the ‘trashy citizens’ that live there.”
6. Vegan Fever 🥦
One-third of Britons (34%) are either interested in trying or plan to try a vegan/plant-based diet, according to a new YouGov poll.
The survey was commissioned by Veganuary, a charity that encourages people to try a 31-day plant-based pledge.
8% of Britons reported they had already cut out animal products and 6% of our eOpinion tribe reported to participating in Vegan-uary this year, you got this!
7. Big thanks to the Bank of Mum and Dad 👏
According to a poll by interactive investor the ‘Bank of Mum and Dad’ are financing more than just home deposits.
From University costs, first cars, savings accounts and even children’s pensions, Mum and Dad can be pretty generous lenders.
However the results do show the difficulties surrounding finance for the younger generation (I can vouch for this).
So to all the ‘Bank of Mum and Dad’s thank you, and an enormous props to everyone doing it on their own.
Thank you for having a read of our Sunday 7. I hope you found it a little bit interesting and entertaining.
